  Friday, February 15: Youe ACTUAR guide will meet you and take you to a guesthouse near the airport.

  Saturday, February 16: Your guide will drive you through lush rainforests of Braulio Carrillo National Park on your way to the Caribbean coast. Once there, head to the hills to stay at the Caribbean style jungle lodge, Casa Calateas. Get to know the community and their conservation efforts. For dinner, your hosts will show you how to make the legendary fish and coconut stew called rondón.  

  Sunday, February 17:  Glide down the smooth waterways of Aviarios del Caribe, spotting monkeys, birds and sloths. Visit the sloth rescue center. Stop for lunch at a downhome Caribbean restaurant. Then hike or snorkel in Cahuita National Park. Overnight at Casa Calateas.

  Monday, February 18:  Get up early and travel about an hour to Bambú, where you will meet the BriBri boatmen who will take you by dugout canoe to the isolated riverside village of Yorquín. Meet the villagers, and see how they process chocolate from their sacred tree, the cacao. You will be able to taste the fruit and see how it is dried, roasted and ground into hot chocolate. Learn how they harvest cacao and organic bananas in harmony with nature. Stay overnight at their Bribri-style lodge by the river. 

Tuesday, February 19:  Hike to a waterfall pool with your indigenous hosts. After a delicious lunch made with freshly harvested ingredients, set off down the river again. Overnight will be amid the lush flower and medicinal plant gardens of El Yüe.

Wednesday, February 20: In the morning, search for dolphins and go snorkeling in Manzanillo with Guías MANT. Have a tasty Caribbean lunch at Maxi's seaside restaurant. In the afternoon, spend time relaxing and swimming at beautiful Punta Uva beach. Overnight at El Yüe.

  Thursday, February 21: Set off early for the drive to your lodge on the west side of Arenal volcano. Enjoy the beautiful view of the volcano and the lake. You are in the right position to see the lava flow, which is especially impressive at night when the weather is clear.

  Friday, February  22: Visit Arenal Hanging Bridges, where you can walk at canopy level in gorgeous rainforest. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a relaxing soak in Ecotermales Hot Springs. Return to your lodge for another night of volcano viewing.

  Saturday, February 23: After a relaxing morning, head back to the Central Valley. In Zarcero, you'll stop in front of the charming church and stroll through the topiary gardens, shaped into monkeys, elephants, dancing bears, etc. You will stop for lunch at a typical restaurant along the way. Overnight near the airport.

Sunday, February 24: Fly home with happy memories of your vacation in Costa Rica!
